Get Younger Looking Skin—Naturally

While your skin naturally changes as you age, there's plenty you can do to keep it clear and youthful-looking. And you don't have to drop a bundle on fancy cosmetics and creams to do it. According to the National Skin Care Institute, good skin is a combination of lifestyle choices and everyday skin-care routines. To start getting compliments on your complexion-and to keep them coming no matter how many birthdays you've seen-follow these tips: Exfoliate. You need to remove the dead skin cells that build up on your face to keep it optimally fresh. At least twice a week, use a product that contains alpha hydroxy acids, or get a facial mask meant for this purpose. Banish dryness. Keep your skin hydrated by drinking at least 8 cups of water a day. For a quick pick-me-up, spritz on distilled water that's been mixed with a few drops of chamomile essential oil. Keep the blood moving. Your skin will look better if it's got blood circulating in it. Exercise daily, and take showers that alternate between hot and cold. Love your lemon. Drinking a glass of hot water with lemon every day can help your skin look better. Lemons help flush out toxins from your body, which in turn leads to clearer skin and a healthier glow. Embrace romance. Some experts contend that regular sex with someone you love keeps skin looking better due to increased blood flow and better circulation. Pay attention to your diet. What you put into your body shows up on your face. Eat plenty of fresh produce and nuts, and try to avoid excess sugar and other unhealthy foods. Hit the sack. A restful night's sleep (at least seven hours) allows your blood oxygen level to be restored, which aids your cells in repairing any skin damage that may have taken place. But try to avoid sleeping facedown, which can contribute to wrinkles. Kick the tobacco habit. Smoking ages your skin by constricting blood vessels and damaging connective tissue. Wash away dirt and makeup. Never go to bed with makeup still on your skin, as it can clog pores. Keep your skin clean by using gentle washes every day. {source}
